Public Skating Rules
- All public skaters must show proof of purchase before entering the ice.
- CSA approved skating aids may be used with the approval of rink staff, based on the number of skaters using the ice surface and other local conditions in the area sectioned off for this purpose. Home- made devices, as well as chairs, baby carriers or strollers are not permitted on the ice at any time.
- CSA approved hockey helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters and are mandatory for children 6 years and younger.
- No food or drink allowed on the ice at any time
- No horseplay or dangerous skating allowed.
- No carrying (piggybacking) of children at any time.
- Children 7 years and younger must be accompanied and supervised by a guardian who is 14 years or older.
- No one permitted on the ice without ice skates.
- No skating in the opposite direction of the flow of skaters.
- No deliberate kicking of the arena boards or ice permitted.
- No snow spraying allowed.
- Skaters are not allowed in players or penalty bench areas.
- Throwing of snow or ice is strictly prohibited.
- Tag games of any kind are not allowed.
- Please obey skate guard commands at all times.
- Please leave the ice immediately upon requests.
- Please enter onto the ice only after the Ice Resurfacer is off the ice, the Ice Resurfacer doors are completely closed and skate patrol staff are on the ice.
- Hockey sticks or pucks are not permitted on the ice during public skating.
- No jumping or spinning allowed.
- Please report any dangerous skating or behavior to ice guards immediately.
- Lessons of any kind are not permitted during public skating
